Engagement models

Three ways to work with us.

Most clients start with a First Build. After that, the path forks based on what the work actually needs — a Sprint for a known next slice, an Embedded squad for ongoing scope, or a clean Handoff if your team takes it from here.

The path through

First Build is the entry. The rest is optional.

No multi-year MSAs to start. No retainer commitments before the team has shipped anything you care about.

Starter · most popular for new clients

First Build

4 weeks · capped at $20K

One concrete deliverable shipped end-to-end under the full methodology. The lowest-risk way to find out whether we are the right team for your project.

See what is included
Best fit
  • You want to validate the methodology against real work before committing to a larger scope
  • You have a concrete deliverable in mind — a dashboard, an integration, a bot, an app slice
  • You want fixed-price predictability with overruns on us, not you
What is included
  • Senior engineering team — same people who would build the larger engagement
  • Full methodology applied: spec → ATDD → AI generation → senior review → eval gates
  • Production deployment + 30-day support window
  • Working code in your repo, your stack, your accounts — never ours
  • Spec doc you keep regardless of whether you continue with us
  • Fixed price · no overrun risk to you
For a known next slice

Sprint

4–8 weeks · fixed scope · fixed price

The next slice of the same system, or a related slice. Scope locked up front against a now-validated team and methodology. Most often follows a successful First Build, but not required.

Discuss a Sprint
Best fit
  • You know what the next slice looks like and want a number against it
  • You want a single team committed end-to-end — not staff-augmentation-style hours
  • You want fixed pricing, not a time-and-materials open cheque
What is included
  • Scope freeze before kick-off — change requests reopen scope, not invoices
  • Same methodology, same senior team continuity
  • Production deployment, observability, runbooks
  • Eval suites carried forward from prior engagements where relevant
  • 30-day support window after each Sprint
For ongoing scope

Embedded squad

Monthly retainer · senior team as an extension of yours

A senior squad embedded in your team for an ongoing engagement. Continuous methodology applied across multiple slices, evolving roadmap, ongoing eval and observability work.

Discuss an embedded squad
Best fit
  • You have an evolving product or platform with continuous build and integrate work
  • You want a senior team you can plan around, not a rotating staff-augmentation pool
  • You want the methodology applied continuously — eval gates running on every change
What is included
  • Senior team committed for the contracted period
  • Continuous spec → ATDD → generation → review → eval loop
  • Ongoing observability, eval drift detection, dependency upgrades
  • Quarterly roadmap reviews against the methodology
  • Knowledge transfer to your internal team baked in — no lock-in by design
How we price

No hourly billing. No discovery decks.

The methodology only earns the cost reduction if the incentives align. Hourly billing rewards slowness; we don't do it.

Fixed-price wherever the scope holds still

First Build and Sprint are always fixed-price. Predictability is part of what you are buying. Overruns are on us, not you.

No per-hour billing

We do not sell hours. Hourly billing rewards slowness and punishes the discipline that makes AI-assisted delivery work — exactly the wrong incentive structure for this methodology.

No discovery decks

We scope, ship the first slice, then iterate. The First Build is the discovery — except you also get production code at the end of it.

No lock-in

Working code lives in your repo, your stack, your accounts. The spec doc, ATDD scenarios, and eval suite stay with you. Walk away whenever — we will hand off cleanly.

Honest about where the curve flattens

Cost reduction claims do not apply uniformly. Mainframes, no-API legacy systems, multi-month security review cycles — those compress less. We will quote those engagements honestly.

Custom for the rest

Anything that does not fit one of these three tiers — large multi-quarter programs, regulated environments, complex partnership structures — we will quote on request.
